Planning a wedding comes with a lot of questions, and I’m here to make this part stress-free! Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions couples ask before booking me as their wedding photographer. How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?
Most couples book their wedding photography 12–18 months in advance. Popular dates—especially spring and fall weekends in Kansas City—tend to go quickly. As soon as you have your venue secured, I recommend reaching out to check my availability.
What’s included in your wedding photography collections?
Every collection includes:
- Engagement Session
- Full wedding day coverage (hours vary by package)
- Professional photography by me, Jennifer Tru
- High-resolution digital images with print release
- An online gallery to view, share, and order prints
Optional add-ons include 2nd Photographer, bridal portraits, and heirloom albums.
Do you travel for weddings outside of Kansas City?
Absolutely! While most of my weddings are in Kansas City, Warrensburg, and surrounding Missouri venues, I also travel throughout the Midwest. Travel fees may apply for weddings outside a 60-mile radius.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes! Engagement sessions are one of my favorite ways to get to know my couples before the big day. They can be added to the collection or can be done without booking wedding services. It’s a great way to feel comfortable in front of the camera and get beautiful portraits for save-the-dates.
Will you be the one photographing my wedding?
Yes. When you book Jennifer Tru Photography, you’re booking me personally. I photograph every wedding myself and only take a limited number of couples each year to give every wedding the attention it deserves.
How many photos will we receive?
On average, you can expect 300–500 professionally edited images from a full wedding day. Every moment—from getting ready through your grand exit—is thoughtfully captured and delivered in your gallery.
How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?
Wedding galleries are delivered within 3-5 days. Engagement sessions typically have a 24-hour turnaround. I love to deliver within a few days to keep the excitement going!
Do you provide albums and prints?
Yes! I believe your photos deserve to live off the screen and be displayed in your home. I offer heirloom albums, wall art, and professional prints. These products are designed to last for generations and tell your wedding story beautifully.
How do we book you as our wedding photographer?
The booking process is simple:
1. Contact me to confirm your date.
2. Pay the $500 retainer to secure your spot.
3. Sign the contract.
Once those steps are complete—your wedding day is officially on my calendar!
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Rain can create romantic, dramatic photos! I always bring clear umbrellas and backup plans for portraits. If you’re flexible, I’ll make sure we still capture gorgeous, timeless memories regardless of the weather.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I always carry multiple professional cameras, lenses, flashes, and memory cards. Your wedding day is too important to risk anything less.
