Wedding Day Details

The morning of your wedding is exciting! You’re surrounded by all of your best friends, sipping on mimosas while getting your hair & makeup done. Emotions are at an all-time high as you prepare to walk down the aisle in a few short hours!
Although this part of day is fun, it can also get a little crazy. There are so many things running through your mind. You won't have time to stop & gather all of your wedding details for your photographer to capture. Getting detail shots is often something that is overlooked, but they are just as important as your other photos. Your wedding details (dress, shoes, jewelry, invitations, etc.) help tell the story of your day!
Before your big day, I always send an email with a list of items to gather for your detail shots. I recommend putting them all in a box or bag. This way, when I show up, I can get right to work! If everything is in one spot when I arrive, I can get through the details much quicker. This way, I will have more time to focus on the moments happening in the room. This will also help you make sure you have everything you need in one location! Win-win.
Here's a list of the details you will want to have ready for your photographer:
The Rings
Make sure you have all of your rings together in one spot – including your groom’s ring!
Pro Tip: get your engagement ring cleaned before the big day so it’s nice and shiny!
Jewelry
Don’t forget to include any jewelry that you will be wearing on your wedding day! You spend so much time carefully choosing the perfect earrings or necklace to match your dress, so be sure to include them! Especially if they are heirloom pieces that have sentimental value.
Stationary
Invitations, RSVP cards, envelopes, stamps, save the dates, programs, and vow books! Since these things are usually tied in with the colors and aesthetic of your wedding, they can really help tie the entire day together.
Dress
You definitely want at least a few photos of your dress before you put it on! Make sure you have a nice hanger for your dress. It doesn’t have to be anything too fancy, but something like a simple wooden hanger really makes a huge difference in the photos.
Shoes
Make sure your shoes are clean and pretty for their photos! I always LOVE seeing the shoes my brides pick out to wear on their big day! They are so fun to photograph.
Veil & Any Other Accessories
Your veil, perfume, something blue, heirloom items and gifts (gifts shared between the bride and groom, or gifts given to bridal party or family members). All of these things help tell the story of your wedding day.
Floral
If possible, have your florist deliver your bouquet and boutonnieres to your getting ready location so you can get detailed photographs of them! They are always so beautiful and definitely deserve to be photographed! If you remember, ask your florist to also bring a few loose flower stems or pieces of greenery to use in the detail photographs – the best way to completely level up these photos!
