Amber and Tyler’s love story is one that feels straight out of a movie. These two first crossed paths back in 7th grade when their math teacher sat them side by side — foreshadowing what was to come. Years later, that chance seating chart led to a high school romance and, eventually, a beautiful proposal at Lions Lake.
As a Warrensburg wedding photographer, I love capturing stories that begin in such meaningful places. For Amber and Tyler, their relationship really took root in high school. On the very last day before quarantine, they reconnected — and what could have been just a fleeting moment turned into the start of forever. That unexpected summer together was spent outdoors, riding bikes, soaking up sunshine, and building memories that would last a lifetime.
One of Amber & Tyler’s favorite spots has always been Lions Lake. It’s been their go-to place for walks, picnics, and stargazing. It was here, during a lantern release, that Tyler chose to propose. As the lanterns floated into the night sky, Amber turned around to find Tyler down on one knee, asking her to spend forever with him. It was intimate, romantic, and perfectly them.
For their engagement session in Warrensburg, we kept things classic and timeless. Amber’s soft white dress paired beautifully with Tyler’s sharp black suit, and together they radiated joy and confidence. Photographing them was effortless — the laughter, the way they looked at each other, and the quiet moments in between told their story so authentically.
This was actually their part two engagement session, giving us even more opportunities to create portraits that reflect who they are together. As a Kansas City engagement photographer, I believe sessions should be about more than photos — they’re about capturing the heartbeat of a relationship, and Amber & Tyler’s is full of warmth and devotion.
What I love most about Amber & Tyler is the way they speak about one another. Amber says Tyler’s love is gentle and his wisdom comforting, while Tyler shares that Amber makes him a better person and encourages him daily. Their relationship is built on laughter, encouragement, and genuine care — which is exactly what makes photographing their journey such a joy.
As their Warrensburg and Kansas City wedding photographer, I cannot wait to ring in 2026 with them and capture every magical moment of their New Year’s Eve wedding. From heartfelt vows to the midnight countdown, it’s sure to be an unforgettable celebration.
