If you’ve landed here, welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Jennifer, the photographer, coffee-lover, creative soul, and heart behind Jennifer Tru Photography. For more than a decade, I’ve had the honor of photographing love stories, seniors stepping into their next chapter, and families who want to freeze a season of life before it becomes a memory. But before I capture your story, I want to share a piece of mine.
Where It All Began
My photography journey started back in 2005 with a simple love for storytelling and a camera that rarely left my hands. What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into a passion—one that made me notice light differently, appreciate emotion more deeply, and fall in love with the idea of preserving moments that would otherwise pass by.
In 2014, Jennifer Tru Photography officially opened its doors. Since then, I’ve photographed weddings in barns and ballrooms, seniors downtown and in wildflower fields, and families on front porches, lakesides, and everywhere in between. Each story is different. Each one matters.
My Style & Approach
My photography is warm, intentional, and true-to-life. I’m not chasing trends—I’m telling stories with heart. I believe in:
✨ Natural emotion
✨ Clean, timeless editing
✨ Beautiful light
✨ Authenticity over perfection
Whether I’m guiding you through gentle posing or stepping back to capture organic, candid moments, my goal is always the same: to help you feel comfortable, confident, and seen.
What I Specialize In
Over the years, I’ve photographed just about everything—but I’ve learned where my heart truly comes alive. Today, I pour my energy and creativity into three main areas:
Weddings
There’s something unbelievably special about wedding days—the anticipation, the laughter, the promises, the quiet in-between moments. From emotional first looks to dance-floor joy, I’m there for it all. My job is to document your story so you can relive it for decades.
Senior Portraits
Seniors are one of my favorite parts of this business. These sessions are fun, expressive, meaningful, and tailored to each student’s personality. Whether you want downtown vibes, golden sunlit fields, or edgy graffiti walls—I’ll help you create portraits that feel like you.
Why I Do What I Do
Photography has carried me through every season of my own life—growth, change, burnout, rebirth, and everything between. In 2024 and 2025, I found myself reevaluating my business and rediscovering what makes this work fulfilling.
I realized:
I don’t just take photos. I document history—for real families, real couples, real people. Your images become part of your legacy… and that is an honor I never take lightly.
